I have been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for The Lion in Winter at Whittier's 32nd Annual Hunter Awards. I am so incredibly proud of this show and all the people involved. The Lion in Winter is nominated in EVERY category! It is also my hope that we win best production of the season. A huge congratulations to all the talented nominees!
I must say that 2013 has been a struggle both personally and professionally. I am not sad to say goodbye. However, I am also reminded today of the many blessing 2013. I started the year with 2 Shakespeare classics: Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet. And I finished strong with 2 rumpus comedies: Americana and Bedroom Farce. Today I am pleased to announce The Examiner acknowledge my work as a Best Supporting Actress in Americana at STAGEStheatre in "Best Orange County Theatre of 2013". It pleases me greatly to see STAGEStheatre and myself acknowledged beside the likes of acclaimed OC Theatre from SCR. In addition to this great piece of news, Eric Marchese with the The OC Register highlighted Bedroom Farce one of the "Top 10 Shows of 2013"! (See picture - Left). So thank you, 2013 - For the good and the bad. May I learn, grow, create, and prosper in 2014! Earlier this year I was involved in a truly inspired production of Christopher Marlowe’s Edward II, adapted and directed by the talented Darcy Hogan. I always speak about this show in fondness because it was not only a satisfying experience as an artist, but I also made some life-long friends on the journey. I am so thankful to have played Margaret, and that Darcy provided me with the opportunity to originate a role which she so lovingly created.

I was nominated for best supporting actress for my performance in Almost, Maine. I am honored to have shared the category with such accomplished actresses. My cast-mate, Jennie Silva-Villa received an award for her role in the same production. I cheered and clapped like a proud mother. In addition to the award ceremony, we also celebrated with a Kick-Off Party for WCT’s 89th Season! We previewed scenes from the upcoming season: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, 12 Angry Jurors , Quilters, and Arsenic and Old Lace. I think I need to put in a word to include some Shakespeare in their 90th Season! |
