Yesterday afternoon we closed The Little Dog Laughed at GWC's Stage West Theatre.
I feel so blessed to have walked in Diane's shoes. I cannot express how much I love this role. My only wish is that I could have had a longer run with her. It is my deepest hope that I will be able to revisit this role one day. She is a dream role that I would happily return to over and over again. Douglas Carter Beane's writing is superb. His characters are interesting, clever, funny, flawed, and everything an actor could hope for. Under the direction of Jill Cary Martin I really got to flex my acting muscles, take on new challenges, and breathe life into my character. I will miss this show very much.

I am pleased to announce that I will be playing Diane in The Little Dog Laughed at Stage West Theatre (Golden West College). It isn't often that I come across a project this exciting! The moment I read this play I knew I had to be a part it. This production will be a limited engagement - 3 performances only! - so be sure to save the dates: April 6th-8th, 2018.
This tony award nominated play is truly spectacular! Not to mention, the playwright Douglas Carter Beane, wrote one of my favorite screenplays - To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar! WHAT?! Eeeeee! I hope I can follow in the steps of Julie White and own the stage with this fabulous role. Here are just some teasers from the original NY critic reviews... "Theatergoers have cause to rejoice. Devastatingly funny, with dizzy, irresistible writing that brings down the house." —NY Times. "A fun evening, full of wit and wisdom." —NY Post. "Big fun and an out-and-out delight…Don't be surprised after seeing it that you giggle in your dreams." —NY Daily News. "Audiences no doubt will be tickled by the Satire/Political Satire's risqué humor and hint of topicality…Clever and funny quick-witted dialogue." —Variety. "A laugh-out-loud lampoon of Hollywood humbuggery…Tremendously funny." —Star-Ledger. |
